The Linked Asset function allows you to link one Parent Asset to one or more Child Asset(s). This is a common use case for Mobile Phones and Mobile Phone Numbers where the Mobile Phone is the parent.

Note: Parent is the only modifiable asset that can be updated and the child will follow. You will be prompted to modify the parent always when attempting to modify a child asset record. To modify a child asset separately from parent will require the two to be unlinked.

1. From within the Link subtab, enter the Parent Asset Tag # number & Child Asset Tag # number in the corresponding fields along with ticket numbers & comments.
2. Click Add
3. Noticed the grid on the bottom with the populated data.
4. Click Save to complete the link.

Once linked, then the Parent Asset can be Assigned to a Person or Installed to a Location and the Child Asset will follow.

1. Search for the Parent or Child asset in the TSE Search Bar.
2. Expand the view of the search result by clicking on the plus sign
3. Click on the link icon on the child asset.
4. In the popup, select the link you want to remove
5. Click on "Remove Link".
